From 15:00 – 17:00 (JST) on 18th November 2020, Ministry of Justice (MOJ), Japan Federation of Bar Associations (JFBA) and Japan International Dispute Resolution Center (JIDRC) jointly host a seminar on Revised of Foreign Lawyers Act and Efforts to Activate International Arbitration.

A Bill to Partial Revision of the Act on Special Measures concerning the Handling of Legal Services by Foreign Lawyers (Foreign Lawyers Act) was enacted on May 22, 2020 (Law No. 33 of 2020).

Key issues on the wide-ranging revisions will be explained by the Ministry of Justice.

Additionally, the latest information on the public & private sectors’ efforts to activate international arbitration will be also provided, including the recent activity to revise the Arbitration Act.

Active participation of Japanese & foreign lawyers and those who consider to become Gaikokuho-Jimu-Bengoshi are expected.
