The Japan International Dispute Resolution Center (JIDRC) will jointly host an event to commemorate the relocation of the Japan International Dispute Resolution Center Osaka (JIDRC-Osaka), entitled “International Arbitration and Osaka” (capacity: 500 persons, free of charge), on Wednesday, 21 April 2021 at 15:00 (Japan time), with the Ministry of Justice of Japan, the Osaka Bar Association, the Japan Association of Arbitrators and the Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

JIDRC-Osaka will move from the Osaka Nakanoshima Government Building to the Osaka International Convention Center “Grand Cube Osaka” on April 1, 2021. We would like to express our great appreciation for the cooperation of the Osaka Prefectural Government in the relocation. Osaka Prefecture is aiming to host the Osaka Expo in 2025 and to become an international financial city. Companies from the Kansai region, including those from Osaka, are expanding overseas at an accelerating rate, but at the same time they are at risk of being involved in international disputes. The presence of a center for the resolution of international disputes in Osaka, which aims to become a cosmopolitan city, is a symbol that Osaka is an international city and a signpost for companies in the Kansai region to resolve international disputes on site. This year’s commemorative relocation event will focus on the theme of “International Arbitration and Osaka” and will introduce Osaka as an attractive location for international arbitration.
